Illiteracy is a major roadblock to development, often resulting in the dis-empowerment of vulnerable communities. Illiterates are unable to read any signs, health warnings and obtain the benefit of government services and programs. They often fail to see the value of education for their own children resulting in perpetuation of the poverty cycle that afflict most illiterates.

GENERAL HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMPS

Even after decades of freedom, India is struggling to provide basic health services to its people. According to government sources, in India 45 children die every hour due to respiratory infections. 1 child dies every 2 minutes due to diarrhea. And annually, about 2 million children under 5 years of age die due to preventable diseases.

SEWING TRAINING CENTRE

Grace Social Welfare Trust started the Sewing Center with a donation of sewing machines, sewing supplies, textiles and a small stipend for a part-time sewing instructor. Today, dozens of young women have graduated from the Grace Social Welfare Trust sewing program with a moneymaking skill and a high status certificate of ability that is proof of their ability.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTERS

The Vocational Training Center provides women from the community such as girls who have dropped-out of school and illiterate women, the opportunity to learn beautician skills. The Centre is open daily in the afternoon and free classes are provided to any woman who wishes to develop these skills.

LEPROSY MISSION

Leprosy affected persons are being completely neglected in family and society and they are living a very miserable life. They don’t have any option for developing better life conditions. In such circumstances they need self-care training for safety, health checkups, clothes, shoes, etc and for livelihood – goat keeping, small shop, poultry, Cow etc., as the only options for their upliftment. Further, they are being rehabilitated and get self-respect and esteem in family.
